President Moon Jae-in met with IOC President Thomas Bach at the United Nations Headquarters in New York for 28 minutes from 5:55 p.m. today.
At the meeting, IOC President Bach expressed his hope for the success of the back-to-back Olympic Games in Asia that started in PyeongChang with Tokyo and Beijing to follow. The IOC President also said that he looked forward to them becoming venues of peace for all of Korea, China and Japan through enhanced trilateral cooperation. The IOC President also gave high marks to the efforts Korea has pursued since the PyeongChang Olympics.
In reply, President Moon said, “It seems that the distance between IOC President Bach and myself is not far.” They agreed to continue close consultations going forward.
