President Moon Jae-in on Oct. 23 ratified the Pyeongyang Joint Declaration and the Agreement on the Implementation of the Historic Panmunjeom Declaration in the Military Domain.
“The development of inter-Korean relations and the easing of military tension will help accelerate the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,” said the president during the Cabinet meeting where he signed the summit agreement and the military agreement into law on that day.
“This will protect the lives and promote the safety of the people in Korea and will help boost the economy by eliminating the risk factors on the Korean Peninsula,” said President Moon. “This is also the way to improve the human rights of the people in North Korea.”
