President Moon Jae-in will pay a state visit to Russia from June 21 to 24 at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During the Russia visit, President Moon will hold a summit meeting with President Putin in Moscow.
President Moon will meet Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, deliver a speech before the Duma, and will attend a Korea-Russia business forum. He will then move to the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don for a 2018 FIFA World Cup soccer match between Korea and Mexico on June 23.
Second Deputy Chief of the Presidential National Security Office Nam Gwan-pyo said during a press briefing in the Chunchugwan Press Center at Cheong Wa Dae that, “Amid the ongoing positive changes concerning the environment for denuclearization and the establishment of peace on the Korean Peninsula, the upcoming summit will offer an opportunity for both countries, as partners for Eurasia, cooperate on strengthening strategic communication in order to achieve peace, prosperity and cooperation across Northeast Asia.”
