On the evening of the last day of his state visit to Singapore, President Moon Jae-in and First Lady Kim Jung-sook attended a state dinner hosted by President of Singapore Halimah Yacob at the Istana, her official residence and office.
In his dinner remarks, President Moon expressed his respect and appreciation to President Halimah Yacob, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and the people of Singapore for ushering in a new era of peace together through devotion and a sense of responsibility.
President Moon said he believed that people were the sources of Singapore’s and Korea’s strengths and that the two countries created miracles that once seemed unimaginable to everyone. The President went on to say that he wanted to create another miracle together with Singapore and also ASEAN. The President expressed the hope that his New Southern Policy, which prioritizes people, will become a common vision shared by the two countries.
